Last updated: 26 September 2026

Tamam Delivery (“Tamam”, “we”, “us”) is an online marketplace that lets you order food from restaurants in El Gouna, Egypt, which deliver with their own couriers. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with and what choices you have. It applies to our website tamam-delivery.com, our iOS and Android apps and the iOS App Clip (together, the “Service”).

Questions or requests about your data: [email protected].

1. Data we collect

Account data. Your name, email address, phone number, preferred language and a password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook, we receive your name, email address and an account identifier from that provider — never your password. With Apple’s “Hide My Email”, we only see the relay address.

Delivery addresses. The details you enter — hotel and room, villa or building, area, notes for the courier, the recipient’s name and phone — and the point you set on the map (coordinates and their accuracy).

Location. We use your location only to put the delivery point on the map, and only when you ask for it:

  • On the website, your browser asks for permission when you tap “Use my location”.
  • In the iOS and Android apps, we ask for precise location permission “while using the app” (iOS precise location, Android fine location). Precise location matters because El Gouna has few street addresses — the courier finds you by the point on the map.
  • We do not collect location in the background, do not track your movements and do not use location for advertising. You can refuse and place the point on the map by hand.
  • To show a place name for the point, our server sends the coordinates (without your name or account) to the OpenStreetMap geocoding service.

Orders. What you order, prices and totals, discounts, payment method you choose (we never receive card details — payment happens on delivery), delivery time, comments, the order status history and any changes agreed with the restaurant.

Communication and feedback. Messages in the order chat with the restaurant, reviews and ratings you publish, complaints and emails you send us.

Resident card. If you apply for the El Gouna resident discount, photos of your resident card (and, if shown, its number and expiry date). They are kept in private storage and opened only through short-lived secure links. The Tamam administrator can see all your cards. When an order gets the resident discount, the order records which card was used, and staff of the restaurant that received that order can see its photo, number and expiry date — El Gouna requires restaurants that give this discount to be able to check the card. Restaurants never see your card for other orders.

Device and technical data. For notifications: your device’s push token, iOS Live Activity tokens, app version, platform and language. Our servers and our network provider log IP addresses and browser information for security and to fix errors.

Usage and diagnostics data. To understand how the Service is used and to fix problems, we collect the pages and screens visited, how you arrived (for example, from a search engine), device type, browser or app version, language and an approximate location derived from your IP address (city or country level). When something breaks, we collect technical error reports: what happened, on which page or screen, device and app details, and your account identifier if you were signed in. We use Google Analytics for usage statistics and Sentry for error reports.

Cookies and local storage. We use a sign-in session cookie and a language cookie, and store your basket and selected address in your browser. We also use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to count visits and understand how the Service is used; they are configured without advertising features and are never used to show you ads. Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it first, and you can refuse analytics cookies without losing any function of the Service. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

2. How we use your data

  • To pass your order to the restaurant and let it prepare and deliver it — this is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To run your account: sign-in, saved addresses, order history, email confirmation and password reset.
  • To keep you updated about your order: push notifications, Live Activities on the iOS lock screen, emails and the order page.
  • To apply discounts, including checking your resident card.
  • To help with problems: support, complaints and disputes between you and a restaurant.
  • To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • To understand how the Service is used and improve it (usage statistics).
  • To find and fix errors and outages (error reports).
  • To keep accounts between Tamam and restaurants.
  • To meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles. We send marketing messages only if you have agreed to receive them. There is no third-party advertising in the Service.

3. Who we share it with

The restaurants you order from. They receive what they need to prepare and deliver your order: your name and phone number, the recipient’s name and phone, the delivery address with the map point, the order contents and your comment, and, for orders with the resident discount, the resident card used (photo, number and expiry date). They see it in the Tamam restaurant panel and, depending on how each restaurant set up its notifications, in its WhatsApp or Telegram chats and by email. Restaurants and their couriers are independent businesses and are responsible for how their staff handle this information.

Service providers that process data on our behalf:

  • DigitalOcean — servers, file storage and backups;
  • Cloudflare — network security, DNS and content delivery;
  • Apple (Push Notification service) and Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) — notifications;
  • Google, Apple and Facebook — only if you use them to sign in;
  • OpenStreetMap — map tiles (loaded by your device) and place names for map points;
  • Google (Analytics) — usage statistics, configured without advertising features;
  • Sentry — error monitoring and crash reports;
  • WhatsApp (Meta) and Telegram — when a restaurant receives order notifications there.

We send email from our own mail server. We may also disclose data when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, restaurants or Tamam.

4. International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside Egypt, including in the European Union and the United States. When they do, we rely on their contractual and security commitments to protect it.

5. How long we keep data

  • Account and addresses — until you delete your account.
  • Orders, including the name, phone number and address used for each order, the order chat and changes — up to 5 years, for accounting, disputes and legal obligations.
  • Reviews — while published. After you delete your account, they stay without your name.
  • Resident card photos — we keep all photos you upload while your account exists and delete them together with the account. The card number and expiry date recorded in orders with the resident discount are kept as long as those orders.
  • Usage statistics — up to 14 months; error reports — up to 90 days.
  • Security logs — for a short period, usually no longer than 30 days. Backups rotate on a similar schedule.

6. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time: on the website under Account → Delete account, and in the apps under Account. Deletion immediately removes your name, email, phone number, password, sign-in links, devices, saved addresses and all photos of your resident card, and signs you out everywhere. Order records are kept as described above, so that restaurants can keep their accounts — including the card number and expiry date in orders that received the resident discount; they are no longer linked to a profile. You can also ask us to delete your data by writing to [email protected].

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 and, for visitors from the European Union, the GDPR — you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent. Write to [email protected]; we reply within 30 days. You may also complain to your data protection authority — in Egypt, the Personal Data Protection Centre.

8. App permissions

  • Location (precise, while using the app) — only to place your delivery point. Optional.
  • Notifications — order status updates. On iOS, an active order can also appear as a Live Activity on the lock screen. The App Clip may send order updates for up to 8 hours after you use it, as iOS allows.
  • Camera and photos — only when you choose to upload a resident card photo.
  • We do not access your contacts. We do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

You can change permissions at any time in your device settings.

9. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), store passwords only as hashes, keep documents in private storage accessible only through short-lived links, and limit staff access to what each role needs. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

10. Children

The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the Service changes, and show the new date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
